Kate Somers combines all her passions and skills in supporting Dresser Marine. As a captain, instructional designer, web developer, and marketing specialist, she manages all of Dresser Marine's digital components from websites to databases, learning management systems, and social media.

Kate returned to her hometown and founded her own business risingT, LLC in 2013 after working with the America's Cup-winning team Oracle Team USA in San Francisco to combine her skills to help marine industry organizations reach their goals through technology and education. She has been working with Dresser Marine since 2016 building all websites, online courses, and membership databases along with managing the social media and marketing projects of the companies.

A passionate sailor, Kate has coached the local high school teams for years and designed a summer program that focused on both sailing and environmental education for elementary and middle school students earning her RIMTA’s Boater of the Year 2016.

She has an undergraduate degree in architecture and mathematics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Master’s degree in Educational Media and Technology from Boston University. When not helping companies, she can be found with her husband and their dog, Scruffy cruising onboard their C&C 34 in the New England waters.
